jenkins-common software package provides Jenkins common Java components and web application, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install jenkins-common
jenkins-common is installed in your system.
Make ensure the jenkins-common package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep jenkins-common *
You will get with jenkins-common package name, version, architecture and description in a table
